A successful marketing communications professional with a total of 19 years’ experience spanning FMCG, Consulting (Andersen), Direct Marketing, Telecommunications, broadcast Media and Financial services. She has worked on various global brands including; Rothmans, Benson & Hedges, Coca-Cola and Airtel, where her deliverables have included developing and executing Equity building and Volume driving strategies as well as collaborating with the creative and entertainment industry extensively.
She joined the marketing profession with a Second Class Upper degree and quickly added a post graduate diploma in Direct Marketing from the renowned DM Institute in the UK, which she earned while working in Client Service at Tequila Nigeria, the pioneer BTL agency in Nigeria.
She joined British American Tobacco Nigeria team (after 2.5 years in Consulting at Andersen) where she worked for over 4 years in various positions from Dialogue Marketing Executive to Brand Executive and then onto Brand Manager. She later joined Coca-Cola Nigeria in 2006, where she immediately worked on the flagship brand: Coca-Cola’s award winning Coke Side of Life Campaign and then onto work on Still beverages and then back to brand Coca-Cola as the Senior Brand Manager.
She was privileged to work in Johannesburg and Nairobi for six months with the Africa Still beverages team in developing strategy and execution plans for a portfolio of brands across seven markets in East and Central Africa.
She moved on to a short stint at Airtel Nigeria in 2011 to manage the Sponsorship and Brands activation portfolio, driving strategy and implementation of the brand’s active trade marketing portfolio across the nation and engaging in strategic sponsorships and partnerships and drove top of mind awareness and brand equity for Airtel.
She moved to Cadbury Nigeria to lead the Beverages category (which represented 60% of Cadbury’s business at the time) and led a cross functional team to achieve +8% year on year growth for Bournvita the flagship brand as well as rejuvenate the brand’s share and equity in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. In a bid to broaden her horizon and expertise in Media and communications, Chioma joined the Marketing team at leading video entertainment organization MultiChoice in the latter part of 2013 as Marketing Manager DStv, where her role encompassed supporting the Sales team in achieving volume objectives, while also communicating the rich content offered on the DSTv platform across Nigeria, with oversight of GOtv the mass market platform from MCN.
Chioma is presently the Divisional Head, Corporate Communications at Diamond Bank; the Leading retail bank in Nigeria. She oversees a diverse team of creative and content managers, brand, PR, Media relations & CSR team leads to deliver on the Corporate organisation’s image & customer perception objective, while also supporting the Retail function utilizing various marketing communication tools to deliver on awareness, acquisition and retention goals for the business.
She has attended several leadership and professional courses in the course of her career at various institutions including the Metropolitan Business School London, Wharton Business School-Pennsylvania and Lagos Business School.

The Young Professionals Bootcamp (YPB) is a 5 day in-residence program for high potential 20-25 year olds to learn world class practical training for success in the marketplace.

No. Anyone who meets the requirements across Nigeria can apply. However, participants outside Lagos will need to take care of their transportation to the venue.
